Legal
By creating an account or using Ledger ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Ledger ("we," "us," or "our").
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ledger. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate and complete.
If you're using Ledger on behalf of an organization or your accounting firm, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You are responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Keep your password secure. Notify us immediately at support@ledgercpa.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not share your account with others, sell or transfer it, or use another person's account without permission.
Ledger is a study-tracking and accountability tool for CPA exam candidates. We help you log hours, monitor progress, and stay accountable to your study plan.
Ledger is not affiliated with the AICPA, NASBA, Becker, Roger, or any official CPA exam provider. We do not guarantee exam passage. Passing the CPA exam depends on your effort, your study materials, and many factors outside our control.
Nothing on Ledger constitutes professional accounting, legal, or financial advice.
Ledger offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Pro, Elite, and Cram Plan). Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe.
You own the content you create in Ledger — your study logs, notes, and data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content in order to operate the Service.
You are responsible for your content. Don't post anything illegal, abusive, or that violates someone else's rights.
By default, your profile and study activity may be visible to other Ledger users (your study group, followers). You can set your account to private from Settings so only approved followers can see your activity.
For details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, see our Privacy Policy.
Ledger allows you to join study groups with a firm code, follow other users, and share progress. You agree to use these features respectfully. Don't use Ledger to harass, spam, or harm other users.
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these community standards.
You agree not to:
You can close your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Ledger is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you pass the CPA exam.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ledger's liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, even if we've been advised of the possibility.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Arkansas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
